Microscopic Cluster Model for Exotic Nuclei

چکیده
For a better understanding of the dynamics of exotic nuclei it is of crucial importance to develop a practical microscopic theory easy to be applied to a wide range of masses. Theoretically the basic task consists in formulating an easy solvable theory able to reproduce structures and transitions of known nuclei which should be then used to calculate the sparely known properties of protonor neutron-rich nuclei. In this paper we start by calculating energies and distributions of A ≤ 4 nuclei withing a unitary correlation model restricted to include only two-body correlations. The structure of complex nuclei is then calculated extending the model to include correlation effects of higher order.

Exotic nuclei in a microscopic cluster model
We present a microscopic description of light exotic nuclei (typically A ≤ 40), based on the cluster assumption. Approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equations are derived in the Generator Coordinate Method. We first give a general presentation of the model, which is applied to twoand three-cluster systems. Application to the 5H nucleus shows that the 5H lifetime could be larger than the 4H...
متن کاملCore excitations in exotic nuclei
The role of core excitations in exotic nuclei is discussed in the framework of a microscopic cluster model. This cluster approach is complemented by the R-matrix theory to take account of the long-range part of the wave functions. We briefly describe the model, and present two recent examples: the neutron-rich nucleus B, described by a B+n structure, and the proton-rich nucleus Na, described by...
متن کاملTowards a microscopic description of reactions involving exotic nuclei.
We propose an extension of the continuum discretized coupled channels (CDCC) method, where the projectile is described by a microscopic cluster model. This microscopic generalization (MCDCC) relies only on nucleon-target interactions, and therefore presents an important predictive power. Core excitations can be included without any further parameter. As an example, we investigate the 7Li+208Pb ...
متن کاملMolecular Structure with Exotic Clusters in light Neutron - rich Nuclei
The excited states of 12 Be, 14 Be and 15 B have been studied with a method of antisym-metrized molecular dynamics. In the predicted excited states we find novel molecule-like structures with very exotic clusters such as 6 He+ 8 He in 14 Be and 6 He+ 9 Li in 15 B. The origin of the 6 He cluster development in the very neutron-rich nuclei is understood by the new-type correlation among 4 neutron...
متن کاملNuclear structure far from stability
Modern nuclear structure theory is rapidly evolving towards regions of exotic shortlived nuclei far from stability, nuclear astrophysics applications, and bridging the gap between low-energy QCD and the phenomenology of finite nuclei. The principal objective is to build a consistent microscopic theoretical framework that will provide a unified description of bulk properties, nuclear excitations...
